Kichiemon was a leading member of the Japanese Folk Art Movement which was popular during the mid-1900s. He included flowers and (or) birds in more than thirty of his stencil prints and woodblock prints. Ten examples are show in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Kichiemon drew his plant and animal subjects in a creative way by distorting their shapes and (or) by falsifying their colors. To see more of his printed art click here.
